How to cast off (your FINAL row) when making a blanket with Cozy Carmel
If you have taken a class with me, here is a refresher for how to cast off (final row) to FINISH your blanket! Congrats! You made it this far- this final row is so satisfying to complete!
Tips for casting off:
Leave more yarn than you think you’ll need- since your loops will be bigger (about double the size of the rest of your loops) you’ll need more for this final row
Every single loop of this final row is about double the size of your previous loops (if your loops were about 2 fingers throughout the blanket, the final row will be about 3-4 fingers)….loop all the way down the row
leave the tail and go back to where you started looping…
If you are on the left of your blanket (your tail is down on the right), left loop over the loop next door (to the right) and pick up the loop you just went over (as seen in the video) and continue doing this the whole way down
When you get to the final loop, you’ll have a tail, take the tail and put it through the final loop and pull snugly. Double knot to secure. You can either tuck in the extra yarn, cut it or cut it and then burn the end and fuse it into the corner
YAY! You did it!
